Here's the Scoop: Directly From Yours Truly

Since childhood, my fascination with staying updated and sharing news has been unwavering. The media world captivated me, leading to a clear aspiration during my college years: becoming a news anchor. However, my enthusiasm waned upon encountering the somber realities of reporting on tragedies. I craved the glitz and glamour of entertainment news, despite being told by my journalism teacher that it wasn't "real news." Undeterred, I pursued my dream relentlessly.
Upon earning my degree, I set my sights on Los Angeles, envisioning a career as an entertainment news reporter. Despite promising opportunities, a traumatic experience prompted a hasty retreat to Chicago. Determined to persevere, I obtained certification in Radio and TV from the Illinois Center for Broadcasting.
Feeling empowered, yet uncertain about my next move, fate intervened through a friend who owned a media company. Pooling our resources, we delved into celebrity interviews, red carpet events, and daily entertainment news. However, the desire for autonomy gnawed at me.
In 2020, amidst a tumultuous year of endings and new beginnings, I launched Yo Talkin Ash. This platform embodies my commitment to living life fully and sharing my passions with the world. Through Yo Talkin Ash, I aim to inspire and entertain, inviting others to join me on this wild ride.
Outside of my professional pursuits, I am an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., fulfilling the role of The Ivy Leaf Reporter for my chapter. I find solace in all forms of media, from music and art to literature. Most importantly, I cherish moments spent with my husband Chris, our son Zion, and our beloved fur baby Savannah.
