Hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest were celebrated with a star-studded performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, in Cleveland, Ohio. The group was inducted by Dave Chappelle, with Q-Tip, Jarobi White, and the late Phife Dawg’s parents accepting the honor.
After Dave Chappelle’s tribute to the group’s legacy and influence, a video played of André 3000, Mike D, and Questlove discussing the hip-hop legends’ mark on music and hip-hop culture. De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, the Roots, Queen Latifah, Common, and Spliff Star performed a medley of Tribe classics during the ceremony.
Other 2024 Rock Hall inductees were Mary J. Blige, Cher, Kool & the Gang, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, and Ozzy Osbourne. This year’s show was produced and directed by Joel Gallen and Tenth Planet Productions. For anyone who was not able to attend the ceremony, it will once again stream live on Disney+ with a special airing on ABC at a later date and be available on Hulu the next day.
