Bill Cosby Released From Prison

In a unexpected turn of events, 83 year old Bill Cosby has been released from federal prison. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his sexual assault conviction saying that Mr. Cosby's due processing rights were violated.

He was sentenced in 2018 to 3-10 years in a state prison for drugging and sexually assaulting #andreaconstand. It was the first high profile celebrity criminal case of the #metoo era.

The Supreme Court judges said that a D.A.'s decision to not prosecute Cosby in 2005 in return for a deposition in his civil case was the very thing they used against him at trial.

“I want to thank the Supreme Court who saw the light and saw the truth,” Cosby’s family said in a statement released by the press representative, Andrew Wyatt.

On the other hand, his accusers say he's a danger to society and it's "a slap in the face."

More than 60 women have accused "America's Favorite Dad" of sexual assault but this trial only focused on Andrea Constand.

Ironically, also released today is a memoir from Ms. Constand that details her journey to hold Mr. Cosby accountable.

Bill Cosby says he wants to get back to his love of comedy and even plans to go on tour.
