Cash Money Celebrates 30 Years in Industry at 30th Essence Festival

After months of waiting for the lineup for the 30th annual Essence Festival, festival-goers now have a look at the first act. On Wednesday, Essence announced the possible reunion of New Orleans rap group "Cash Money Millionaires" on social media.

The record label is responsible for some of New Orleans’ biggest rap stars like Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, BG, Turk and more. 

Essence Fest was founded in 1995 as a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Essence Magazine, then it soon established itself as a cornerstone of New Orleans' summer tourism and part of the culture. Throughout the month of May, Essence will be making more announcements on who will be joining the festival this year.
