Jeannie Mai Announces Pregnancy

Baby J on board. Jeannie Mai and Jeezy are expecting their first child. Jeannie revealed her baby bump during her talk show "The Real" surprising everyone including her co-hosts.

Still considered newlyweds, the couple kept this precious secret for nearly 5 months. They decided they wanted to start a family almost a year ago. Due to age and other circumstances, they chose to do in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Jeannie found out she was pregnant a month before their wedding. Unfortunately, she suffered a miscarriage. Jeannie says, "I wondered if I was being punished. I wondered if I’d jinxed myself or cursed myself," says Jeannie, because, up until last year, she never wanted to be a parent. "My entire life, I never wanted children. When I say never, I’m talking a hard-stop never." She symbolized the choice with a tattoo on her stomach. It gave her a sense of freedom and serves as a reminder that motherhood is always her call.

She credits love simply as her reason for the change of her heart...Falling in love with Jeezy made me see life differently for myself. Our love is honest, pure, and safe…something I hadn’t felt as a child," Jeannie says. It wasn’t until she met him that she could envision fostering the happy environments she and Jeezy missed out on growing up.

Just a week after their wedding, Jeannie found out she was expecting again. Jeezy has 3 children from previous relationships. This is the couple's first child together.
