Legendary actress Marla Gibbs is giving a look into her life with a new memoir. The actress did an exclusive interview with People.com where she revealed the cover of her memoir It’s Never Too Late.

The memoir will be released in early 2026 from Amistad, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. The Emmy nominee and NAACP Image Award winner is best-known for roles as the family maid Florence Johnston on the hit sitcom The Jeffersons, as well as matriarch Mary Jenkins on 227.

In the book, the star reflects on her childhood in which “she was always in search of safety in love,” according to the book's official synopsis. It also explores her life-changing move to Los Angeles after an abusive marriage.

“It is an honor that Amistad, one of the most esteemed African American imprints in publishing, has chosen my life story to be among their selective canon of powerful narratives. My hope is that my memoir will serve as an inspiration to those that continue to show me love and support,” Gibbs said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
