Her cremated remains will be added to a rocket going to the moon and beyond and set to launch later this year. The Vulcan rocket will not only carry her remains but others from "Star Trek" including its creator Gene Roddenberry and James Doohan who played "Scotty" in the TV series and films.

Nichelle who died on July 30 at 89, is best known for portraying Lt. Nyota Uhara in the "Star Trek" tv show from 1966-1969 and in the franchise's films from 1979-1991.

She wanted to leave the show after just 1 year to pursue a career on Broadway but changed her mind after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. told her about the impact her non-stereotypical role had on Black Americans.

Her influence spread beyond the small screen, helping to recruit some of the first female and minority US astronauts.

Others can participate in this special flight by having their loved ones' remains in a spaceflight container, for a mere $12,500. Reservations close Aug 31.
