On April 2nd, World Autism Day, Nick Cannon and Abby De La Rosa chose to share a personal revelation: their son Zillion Heir has recently been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
In a heartfelt post, De La Rosa expressed the significance of the day for their family, acknowledging Zillion's diagnosis and likening him to the remarkable minds of historical figures such as Nikola Tesla, Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Michelangelo. She emphasized Zillion's unique perspective on life and the daily lessons he teaches them.
Accompanying the caption was a video capturing moments of joy as the family, including Cannon, Zillion, De La Rosa, and other loved ones, engaged in an Easter egg hunt outdoors. Their other children, Zion Mixolydian (Zillion’s twin), and Beautiful Zeppelin, also participated in the festivities.
De La Rosa continued to celebrate Zillion's qualities, describing him as a beacon of love, strength, and brilliance who brightens every room he enters. She expressed gratitude for being entrusted with such a remarkable spirit and affirmed their wholehearted acceptance of the responsibility.
Despite ASD not being a new condition, it remains subject to stigma and misunderstanding. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ASD is a developmental disability stemming from brain differences, affecting social interactions, behavior, and communication to varying extents for each individual diagnosed.
