R&B Singer Turned Country Music Artist K. Michelle Signs First Country Music Deal

Country music star K. Michelle is following her dreams and landing big deals. The singer landed her first country music deal with BMG Nashville. On Monday, July 29, K. Michelle who retired from R&B music revealed that she was signed to BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville.
“I have been ready. I am grateful for this moment,” said K. Michelle in a statement.
BMG’s VP of A&R, Katie Kerkhover, expressed enthusiasm about K. Michelle’s recent signing by expressing that her passion for country music shows. Kerkhover noted the Tennessee-born singer’s unique voice and her storytelling.
The former reality star released her finale R&B album, I’m The Problem, in 2023. Soon after, she began teasing her debut country LP with the help of her single, “Tennessee” and alter-ego Puddin. The alter-ego comes from a childhood nickname of K. Michelle.
K. Michelle has recently appeared at several country music events, including the 2023 CMA Awards. She was featured on the album A Tribute to The Judds, singing “Love Can Build a Bridge” with Jelly Roll and the Fisk Jubilee Singers and later performed the song live at the CMA awards show.
