R. Kelly Found Guilty Of Sex Trafficking and Racketeering

R&B singer and producer R. Kelly has been found guilty of charges that include bribery, sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual exploitation of a child.

14 acts were associated with the racketeering charge.12 of those acts were proven by the prosecution and involved 5 girls including singer Aaliyah. Prosecution only needed to prove 2 of the acts for a guilty charge.

R. Kelly faces a possible sentence of 10 years in jail. In addition to waiting for his sentencing in this New York case, he will also face a 2nd federal trial for charges of child pornography and obstruction of justice in Illinois. That trial has been rescheduled several times and does not have a new date set yet.

Sentencing in New York is scheduled for May 4th.
