The Newest Remake: The Bodyguard

The Bodyguard is the latest movie in Hollywood slated to get a remake. The original starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner came out in 1992 and made over 400 million dollars.

The romantic drama of a superstar and her bodyguard was not only a box office smash but also has what is widely considered the best selling soundtrack of all time. It contained several hits including I Have Nothing and I Will Always Love You.

The film is in development with Warner Bros. Studio. Tony nominated playwright Matthew Lopez has been hired to write the reimagining of the classic film.

Lawrence Kasdan, Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin are set to produce. Kasdan was tied to the original film.

Allegedly this remake has been in the making for at least the past 10 years but never got off the ground. Since then, numerous people have been linked to the project including Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, Channing Tatum and Cardi B.

Whomever is chosen, they certainly will have big shoes to fill. There have been no further details given about the remake including a possible release date.
