Whoopi Goldberg, Jenifer Lewis To Star In Netflix Comedy ‘Women Like Us’

Netflix announced a new star-studded comedy that will bring together a powerhouse cast of acting legends including Whoopi Goldberg, Jenifer Lewis, Vanessa Williams, and Vivica A. Fox. The film will mark the very first collaboration between production companies MACRO Film Studios founded by Charles D. King and Higher Ground, the media company founded by Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

Directing the feature titled “Women Like Us” is actor and producer Tasha Smith. The movie script was made by Ali Kinney who is known for Netflix’s “Ginny & Georgia”. 

Shooting in New York City this fall, Women Like Us will show a recently widowed woman dragged to the Hamptons by her lifelong best friends and sister on what should have been her 30th anniversary. The weekend turns into a reckoning with grief, marriage and the sisterhood that’s carried them throughout the years.
