Recently 'Sister Act' fans got a nice surprise on daytime tv. On Wednesday's episode of 'The View', Co-host Whoopi Goldberg reunited with the cast of 'Sister Act 2' to celebrate the film's 30th anniversary. During the episode, the cast sang the movie's hit songs 'Oh Happy Day and ‘Joyful, Joyful’ and later held a panel discussion.

Goldberg directed the choir in a black-and-white robe similar to the one she wore in the film as Deloris Van Cartier while the choir sang out Edwin Hawkins’ song, led by Ryan Toby who portrayed Ahmal.

The episode included video messages from cast members who couldn’t attend the reunion like Jennifer Love Hewitt, who played the character of Margaret in the classic film.

At the end of the performance, Goldberg who was visibly emotional was embraced by Sheryl Lee Ralph and other costars. She spoke on the impact that Sister Act franchise has had on generations and the impact it still has on fans today.

The episode also confirmed that 'Sister Act 3' is in the works. According to IMDb, it is set to star Goldberg, Bette Midler and Keke Palmer.
