A Beautiful Night at the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award Ceremony

Some of the most notable names in Hollywood gathered to celebrate and recognize the best tv and film performances of the past year. The ceremony was held at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 24th.

Ciara, Oprah, Halle Bailey and more stars of “The Color Purple” attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday in Los Angeles. While the reboot of the 1985 film did not receive any accolades, the cast stole the show on the red carpet. #thecolorpurple

Ciara stunned in a beautiful "chocolate latex" as she describes to E! red carpet host Laverne Cox. The singer and actress accessorized the Venus Prototypex gown with matching Christian Louboutin pumps, oversize bangles and large statement earrings.

Winfrey, who recently celebrated her 70th birthday, dazzled in an off-the shoulder custom Gucci gown. Bailey floated across the carpet in a mauve tulle Dolce & Gabbana gown showing off a mermaid silhouette. These are just a few of my favorite looks of the night. Absolutely beautiful!

A sweet, gut-wrenching moment on the carpet was shared between Halle Bailey, Sterling K. Brown, and his wife, Ryan Michelle Bathe. The exchange was too genuine for this world. In the middle of Bailey's interview with ET's Nichelle Turner, she gushes about how much she admires the This Is Us stars. Turner does her part to relay the sentiment to the stunning couple.

"She's lovely," Brown gushed. "She represented so well for us. I mean, we were streaming tears at the end of it because you were beautiful. Your soul is beautiful, your talent was radiant. If you had done it and you were bad, nobody would be messing. But you killed it!"

Bathe couldn't resist chiming in to the heart-warming moment.

"No, 'cause you don't understand, I watched that movie every single day from the age of like 12 to 16 and it was such a --," Bathe trailed off as she choked back tears. Brown joked that she and Bailey needed to save their makeup. "I didn't think I'd ever see us, you know what I mean?" Bathe continued, pouring her heart in the sentiment. "Not only was it us, but it was so you. And you brought you. And then you brought us in bringing you. And it just. It was just unspeakable joy for me."

It was just too pure. We love a good #wholesome moment.

Barbra Streisand was able to celebrate yet, another milestone in her legendary career. The 81 year old actress and performer accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award from Jennifer Aniston, who coined her as an inspiration and an icon. The Friends actress honored Streisand for her impact in television, film, the stage, and activism.

(Robert Gauthier, Los Angeles Times.)

"Barbra did not just pave the way for us women, she bulldozed it," Aniston said Saturday night.

“It’s really a privilege to be part of this profession. For a couple of hours, people can sit in a theater and escape their own troubles,” Streisand said. “What an idea, moving pictures on a screen, and I can’t help but think back to the people who built this industry. Ironically, they were also escaping their own troubles."

Overwhelmed with emotion, Streisand took to the change to accept the award after receiving a nearly two-minute standing ovation. "Thank you SAG-AFTRA, I'm very proud to be a member for over 60 years, I can't quite believe it," Streisand added. #lifetimeachievement

Da'Vine Joy Randolph also received flowers for her supporting role in The Holdovers'. (This one was a personal favorite of mine. If you have not seen it, I recommend watching!)

In this category, she was up against Danielle Brooks for The Color Purple, Emily Blunt for Oppenheimer, Penélope Cruz for Ferrari, and Jodi Foster for Nyad. In other words, the competition was tough. Randolph, 37, began by telling the other nominated actresses, "Emily, Danielle, Jodie and Penelope: The fearlessness of your work and grace that you all carry yourselves with is such an inspiration to me. I am beyond humbled, and I am so incredibly grateful to be considered amongst you." #inspirational

(Netflix, 2024.)

Randolph thanked everyone who allowed the film to come to life. "To Paul Giamatti and Dominic Sessa, thank you for your generosity and honesty. Grief is a slippery emotion to capture and I thank you for creating an environment where I felt safe enough to explore the depths of [my character] Mary.

To conclude her heartfelt speech, Randolph provided an inspirational message to her fellow actors.

"For every actor out there still waiting in the wings for their chance, let me tell you, your life can change in a day," she said. "It is not a question of if, but when. Keep going. Thank you."

SAG Award Ceremony was a beautiful night, indeed. Congratulations to all winners and nominees! #SAGAwards #triumph #losangeles #netflix
