Beyoncé, and Kelly Rowland are continuing to give back to their home city in Texas. The two singers along with Tina Knowles marked the opening of the Knowles-Rowland House. A new permanent supportive housing facility built in partnership with Bread of Life, Inc.
The development reportedly features 31 apartments, including 16 units designed for residents with mobility or sensory impairments. The newly rebuilt facility is now a three-story building for adults and unhoused individuals.
“We will have mental health access resources, benefits enrollment, housing and hygiene resources, life skill training and so much more… the goal is to provide as much wrap-around services as possible,” says Camille Chappell, Bread of Life.
The building originally served local youth before suffering damage from Hurricane Harvey in 2017. It suffered further damage in 2021 after a fire. Kelly Rowland shared just how much this moment meant to them via social media.
