Last week the WNBA world was shaken up when it became public that the Chicago Sky decided to trade player Angel Reese. Reese is now on the Atlanta Dream as of Monday, April 6, in exchange for the Dream’s first-round picks in 2027 and 2028.
As part of the trade, Atlanta will receive the right to swap second-round picks with Chicago in 2028. Reese’s former team the Chicago Sky took to social media to make the announcement that Reese was leaving the team. The post wished the player the best on her new team, while also highlighting her achievements while in Chicago.
The Atlanta Dream’s General Manager Dan Padover released a statement on Reese joining the team. In the statement Padover said Reese joining the team is an exciting moment for the organization, and for the fans.
“Angel is a dynamic talent and a perfect fit for what we are building in Atlanta,” Dream general manager Dan Padover said in a release. “She has already proven herself as one of the most impactful players in the league, and her competitiveness, production and drive to win align seamlessly with our vision. This is an exciting moment for our organization and our fans.”
