Keke Palmer Partners With UCLA To Launch Artist-In-Residence Collaboration

Keep a bag Keke Palmer is continuing to collect those bags with her latest move. The actress teamed up with UCLA to launch an artist-in-residence collaboration.

The 5-year program will have Palmer visiting UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT) department for quarterly workshops starting this fall. Under the new program called From Blocking to Broadcast, at least three student projects every year will be distributed through KeyTV.

Palmer will lead workshops on pitching, distribution, business ownership, and building a sustainable career in media. Starting in 2027-28, students will produce original content across different formats like video podcasts, TV pilots, music videos, and musical theater through a fully sponsored studio course with Palmer as their mentor.

“UCLA TFT is a place where artists learn to be in practice, to experience trial and error, to take projects off the page,” Palmer said. “That is also the mission of KeyTV. We know that education is key to democratizing opportunities and I am eager to both learn from and support UCLA TFT students. It is no small feat to pursue higher education, especially at a prestigious institution. I look forward to listening, encouraging and offering them more than one chance to succeed.”
