Regina King has found a way to keep her son’s legacy alive with a new wine venture. King created MianU three years after her late son, Ian Alexander Jr., passed away.

MianU serves as a way to keep Ian present with the brand’s name, and the logo includes Ian’s handwriting, making him part of the project. King said the idea came after her son first introduced her to orange wine.

“Maybe they’ll ask,” King said of the name on the bottle. “His name is right there, in the middle of it all. He’ll never be forgotten. If you see me, you see Ian.”

The actor says she thinks of her son “every time” she pours a glass of the wine. King previously opened up about her son’s death during an interview with Good Morning America in March 2024.

Currently anyone looking to try the sold-out wine will have to join a waitlist on MianU's website.
