Teyana Taylor’s Directorial Debut Getting Star-Studded Cast

Golden Globe winner Teyana Taylor is assembling an all-star cast for her feature directorial debut,. “Get Lite,” will star Emmy winner Storm Reid and NFL rookie-turned-actor Ceyair Wright. According to an exclusive report from Variety, Leslie Odom Jr. is also confirmed to be joined by Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor.
The cast also features Woody McClain, Khayr Bullock, and Tylil James. The storyline of ‘Get Lite’ focuses on a talented but sheltered dance student, Saunders (played by Ceyair Wright), who has very little experience outside his familiar setting. Storm Reid plays a girl who introduces him to new experiences and helps him see life differently.
Reid also has a producing credit alongside Bill Karesh, Robyn Simpson, Kenya Barris, Anni Weisband, and Solome Williams. In addition to directing, Taylor is producing the project with Courtney 'Coco' Gilbert under their production banner, The Aunties. “Get Lite” is scheduled to hit theaters on August 20, 2027.
