Teyana Taylor To Receive Icon Of The Year Award At BET Awards

Teyana Taylor is adding another honor to her list of accolades. The Golden Globe-winning actress and singer will be honored with the Icon of the Year Award at the 2026 BET Awards.
Taylor will be honored during the awards show on Sunday, June 28. The show, hosted by Druski will broadcast live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
A press release explains, the BET Awards “Icon of the Year” award is presented to a culture-defining artist. Taylor is not only an actress and singer but she also is a choreographer, producer, and fashionista.
“Teyana Taylor is the embodiment of what it means to be an icon in this moment,” Connie Orlando, EVP, specials, music programming & music strategy at BET said in a statement. “She doesn’t ask for a seat at the table; she builds the table, designs the rooms, and sets the tone for everyone who walks in. Her fingerprints are all over culture, and it is an honor to celebrate everything she represents on Culture’s Biggest Night.”
