The Latest on Slap Gate: Will Smith Apologizes, Jada Speaks Out...

So unless you've been hiding under a rock, we've all heard and seen the now infamous slap. Last night at the 94th annual Academy Awards, Will Smith walked onstage and slapped Chris Rock while he was presenting the award for Best Documentary Feature after Rock made an insulting joke towards Smith's wife (Jada Pinkett-Smith.)

Here's the latest on the slap..The Academy has officially started a formal review process and will explore further action and consequences. Word on the street is it's unlikely that he'll be stripped of his Oscar.

Last night, Will Smith issued an apology on Instagram to Chris Rock and pretty much everyone else calling his actions inexcusable and unacceptable.

Today, Jada Pinkett-Smith also took Instagram with a simple message: This is a season for healing and she's here for it.

There was an apology floating around social media from Chris Rock but it's been determined to be fake and he has not yet issued a statement.
