Beyonce opened up the show with a bright tennis themed performance. She performed in Compton with Blue Ivy also gracing the stage

History was made in more ways than one: CODA won Best Picture becoming the first movie from a streaming service to win. While Ariana Debose won best supporting actress becoming the first openly queer woman of color and the 2nd Latina to win. Best supporting actor went to Troy Kotsur who became the first deaf man to win an acting Oscar.

Now I know everyone wants to talk about the slap. By now we all know Will slapped Chris Rock after he joked about Jada's bald head which she has due to alopecia. During the commercial break, it appears Will was being comforted by Tyler Perry and Denzel Washington.

Later, during his acceptance speech, Will apologized to the Academy.

Some saw the slap as a success like Tiffany Haddish who said Will renewed her hope in men to know that some do still stand up for their loved ones. Others like Kathy Griffin are worried about the safety of comedians saying it's a bad practice to physically assault a comedian and hopes no one follows in Will's footsteps.

The Academy tweeted a statement saying they don't condone violence and congratulated all of the winners.

Chris Rock has declined to file a police report with the LAPD at this time although he has the ability to change his mind.

As of now, it seems Will hasn't gotten any repercussions and it's still unclear on whether the Academy will hold him accountable. Neither Will Smith or Chris Rock have commented.
