Soccer star Trinty Rodman is kicking off her new year with a deal that helped her make history. After five years playing soccer for the Washington Spirit, the 23-year-old has signed a contract with the team for another three years.
The deal is more than $2 million annually, according to The Athletic. Signing the deal makes her the highest paid woman in the sport.
“I think I've always had a vision and an idea of what I wanted my legacy to be,” the Olympic gold medalist—daughter of NBA star Dennis Rodman and Michelle Moyer—shared at her signing event Jan. 23, per NBC News. “And for me, we're doing that, and I'm so grateful for that.”
Rodman, Spirit owner Michele Kang, Spirit President of Soccer Operations Haley Carter and CEO Kim Stone made the announcement Thursday at BMO Field in Los Angeles, near where Rodman is training with the USWNT.
